Atima Lui believes AI is the next civil rights frontier

Name: Atima Lui
Hometown: Topeka, Kansas
Current city: Brooklyn, New York
Describe your job in 5 words: President & CMO of AlgoFace
How I got here.
I grew up with Mary McLeod Bethune, Zora Neale Hurston, and Ralph Ellison: "The drums of Africa still beat in my heart," "I am NOT tragically colored," and "I am invisible, because people REFUSE to see me."
How I work to advance women.
I've created accurate bias-free skin-tone-matching technology so that every woman, regardless of pigment, can truly be seen. There is no limit to diversity, and face AI is the next civil rights frontier.
Why I’m proud.
Our team at AlgoFace is 63% women, and my previous startup NUDEST was comprised predominantly of women and people of color. What other AI tech companies can say that?!
